About Us

OUR ORIGIN STORY…

When the Universe comes knocking…open the door to a world of possibilities!

In 2016, I started dipping my toes into some independent contract work. I still kept one foot in a door that provided me mentorship and guidance from exceptionally seasoned occupational therapists, but having a little independence was exciting. I have always been the type to do more, reach for more, and keep pushing to something new. After having a little taste of independence, I decided to create my own LLC. In 2019, KP Therapy & Wellness was born! It was fun to play with this new adventure and see what I could do. And then life excitement also happened – I got married, the global pandemic happened, and I had babies! A husband and 2 kids later I got the itch again to build. It’s funny what comes your way when you put out that you’re ready for more…The universe came knocking and once I opened the door, more and more doors were there for me! I opened every one of them and decided KP was going to be bigger than just me and with that… Kid Power was activated!

I have always had a passion for working with kids. My mom was a teacher and my whole life I was exposed to the power of helping and teaching roles for kids. As I got older I was really pulled towards the beauty of special education. I loved the diversity of abilities in kids. I grew up a competitive figure skater and started coaching at age 15. This opened a door into seeing the possibilities of what kids can do. I coached figure skating for the rest of high school and then throughout college. When I found the profession of pediatric occupational therapy during a shadowing experience of my own skating coach, I instantly fell in love and knew this is what I wanted to do…what I needed to do…what I believed I was meant to become!

So from that sophomore year in high school, I made the decision to become an OT and I never looked back, only moving forward on to bigger OT dreams!

I believe every child is unique and amazing! I am proud to be an Occupational Therapist and feel honored with the responsibility in working with children and their families for them to become exactly who they are meant to be.

There are so many chapters of my occupational therapy journey that I am grateful for because it all lead to creating Kid Power. I have crossed paths with some incredible clinicians and I am so fortunate to have some of the best mentors and collegues throughout the nation to connect with and continue to learn from. The passion for providing the best care and supports to kids and their families as well as community teams is a value we want all of our clients to experience. The beautiful work of occuaptional therapy is a gift we love to share. Kid Power strives for growth and opportunities and can’t wait to build more relationships with families and businesses to help kids unlock their highest potential.

Meet our Staff!

Kacy

Owner &

Occupational Therapist

Hello and welcome!! I am Kacy, an occupational therapy and owner of Kid Power. I started my occupational therapy journey at UW-Milwaukee and when looking at OT programs I decided to transfer to Mount Mary University which was the perfect fit. I graduated from Mount Mary University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree and in 2012 with my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. After grad school, I wanted something different…an adventure! So after I passed my boards, I packed up and moved to Colorado Springs! If moving across the country alone wasn’t enough, I decided I was ready for more. I continued my studies at Rocky Mountain University and received a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a specialty in pediatrics in 2014. I found a deep love for the mountains and loved my time in Colorado, but Wisconsin had my heart so back to Kenosha I went!

Fast forward and now I have almost 15 years of experience in pediatrics in a variety of settings including public schools, early intervention, outpatient clinics, transition programs, and therapeutic day schools. I LOVE to learn! I can’t get enough in attending continuing education courses. I strive to learn innovative and evidence-based treatment interventions and am always seeking out more training and professional development. I currently have extensive training and experience in sensory processing, autism, developmental challenges, interoception, play therapy, DIR floortime, bodywork, pediatric mental health, trauma-sensitive interventions, and sensory regulation.

When I’m not busy being an OT, you can find me enjoying my family, traveling, or on my yoga mat. I am the proud mom of 2 toddlers and 2 fur babies. It’s great that I struggle with sitting still, because we are always on the go! My husband and I are never bored. When we are able, we LOVE to travel and check out new places. Our favorite trip so far has been to Thailand. While I do love being on the go, either with my kids or on an airplane, I have begun to appreciate taking some time for myself to and found my love for yoga. I make sure to find time to roll out my yoga mat and build my own physical and mental health. It is one of the staples that really grounds me to set me up for the beautiful, messy life I am grateful for. While getting on the floor and playing in all the messy things is my favorite thing to do as an OT, through my different experiences I have also found a love for promoting OT in other ways. I have a deep passion for coaching and educating parents, teaching occupational therapy students, and collaborating/teaching peer professionals for the betterment of children in order for them to be their best selves! I am grateful every day to be an OT!

Amanda

Family & Community Outreach Coordinator

The morning of my photo shoot for my new Parent Liaison position did not go as planned. I had this idea in my head of how it would go — calm morning, perfect outfit, maybe even a quiet cup of coffee before heading out the door. Reality? Not even close. We slept late. My sweet husband made a new breakfast recipe that no one liked because — as any parent of neurodivergent kids knows — new” can feel like a four-letter word. Meanwhile, I stood in front of my closet realizing that after seven years as a stay-at-home mom, my wardrobe is basically yoga pants in every shade of black and gray. Nothing fit quite right, and I only managed to do half my makeup before things truly went sideways. My autistic daughter was completely dysregulated because she had lost her cardboard iPhone — a special creation a friend made her at school — and her heart was set on finding it right now. The morning became about helping her regulate, searching for that little cardboard treasure, and reminding myself (again) that her needs always come first.

By the time we got out the door, I realized something important: I had worried that the hardest part of the day would be finding the right outfit. Instead, it was the same balancing act we live every day — showing up for our kids, even when life gets messy, unpredictable, and not at all “photo ready.” That’s what being a parent of neurodivergent kids looks like. It’s not perfect, but it’s real. And it’s exactly why I’m so passionate about this new role as Family Liaison — to support other families walking the same beautifully chaotic path. If any part of this story feels familiar, you’re not alone. As Family Liaison, I’m here to listen, support, and help you find the resources your family needs — please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Mallory

Office Manager & Occupational Therapist

Hi! My name is Mallory and I graduated from Mount Mary University in 2012 with my Masters in Occupational Therapy. I have been very fortunate to have been able to work in an autism clinic, a skilled nursing facility, and as a school-based OT. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I just wanted to help others. While I love treating as an OT, I am beginning to explore other administrative roles that I can use my OT expertise which has brought me to Kid Power! Outside of work, I love reading books, hiking with my husband, and I am a huge animal lover.

Brenna

Occupational Therapist

I was first introduced to the wonderful world of occupational therapy during my first year of college. As an observant, creative, and ever-curious person, I was drawn to a little bit of everything but nothing entirely at that time, so it took a bit of time and research to get there. One day, I was encouraged to look at occupational therapy and what a gift that was! I learned that occupational therapists study the body, mind, development, and society so that these factors can be infused with one another and individualized help can be offered to people wanting to be more engaged, connected, and independent in their daily lives. From there, it was like an instant click into place, and I knew this was a perfect profession for someone like me. I went to UW-Madison to complete my Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Psychology. I couldn’t help myself but to stay for my Masters degree in occupational therapy, as well!

I graduated in 2015 and have been working in pediatrics ever since. My experience includes working in many settings: clinic, therapeutic day school, preschool and private schools, telehealth, and in-home. I’m a therapist that prioritizes secure, playful, creative, and goal-driven therapy. I continue to be passionate about working with all ages and abilities, which has guided my continuing education in a variety of directions and practice areas. I regularly learn and get ongoing professional training in sensory integration, reflex integration, emotional regulation, interoception, DIR-Floortime, and neurodiversity affirming practice. I love having a big “tool box” of treatment strategies. Not to mention, I get some of the best ideas from my clients!

When I’m not busy being an OT, you’ll find me crafting, outside with my dog, reading, or exercising. I love a good TV show, too. I’m a homebody that actively seeks out all things comfy, but I definitely love exploring new places, too. My favorite place to be is a new restaurant or museum!

Liz

Occupational Therapist

Hi, my name is Liz, and I’m so glad you’ve decided to see what Kid Power has to offer! I joined the Kid Power team in January 2025 and have truly found a great fit.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary University. I chose pediatric occupational therapy because I wanted to give strength and hope to those who may feel overwhelmed or uncertain. My journey as an occupational therapist began in the school setting, where I had the privilege of working with preschoolers through adolescents, including students in high school postsecondary transition programs. These programs support students with disabilities as they prepare for life after graduation—building skills for further education, employment, and independent living. Working within schools gave me a deep appreciation for how much regulation, sensory processing, and confidence impact a child’s ability to learn and thrive. I also understand how much parents want to see their children succeed not only at home, but in the school environment where so much growth takes place.

On a personal note, my connection to this work deepened when I learned that my daughter might face developmental challenges. During that time, I tried to prepare myself but often felt alone. Thankfully, she turned out healthy—but that experience opened my eyes and my heart. I knew then that I wanted to dedicate my career to supporting families who might feel the same way I once did.

At Kid Power, it’s been so rewarding to help children and families build regulation, confidence, and independence in the clinic—and to see those skills carry over into their daily lives at home and in school. When I’m not working, you can find me raising my teenage daughter, spending time in nature, practicing exercise for both physical and mental well-being, enjoying time with family and friends, and simply appreciating all that life has to offer in each moment.

Ashli

Occupational Therapist

I discovered my passion for occupational therapy after observing the in-home services my nephew received. Although I never expected this to be my path, I’m grateful I made the switch from nursing during my undergraduate studies. Occupational therapy has truly changed the way I see the world—just as the quote says, “Occupational therapy is where we ask, ‘What matters to you?’ not ‘What’s the matter with you?’”

I graduated from Marian University with a double major in Exercise and Sport Science and Psychology. That same year, I was accepted into the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Mount Mary University. During my final Level II fieldwork experience, I had the opportunity to join Kacy as a student. From our first video chat to my last day of fieldwork, I knew I wanted to work in a pediatric setting like Kid Power—and I’m fortunate to now have that opportunity.

As I begin my journey as an occupational therapist, I recognize that learning never stops—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m passionate about working with individuals of all ages and abilities, with particular interests in pediatrics and mental health. I look forward to continuing my professional growth through ongoing education and discovering new ways occupational therapy can support my clients, students, and families.

Outside of the OT world, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places, being with family and friends, exercising, and practicing self-care. I’ve loved traveling and hope to continue exploring the world—always viewing it through my OT lens.

Sarai

Occupational Therapist

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to helping others and making a positive impact in their lives. When I discovered the field of occupational therapy, everything clicked—I had found the perfect path that combined my love for child development, creativity, and meaningful connection!

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside and went on to receive my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Since then, I’ve gained experience across a variety of pediatric settings, including outpatient clinics, school based therapy, early intervention, and home health. My experiences in various pediatric settings have given me the opportunity to support children and their families across all environments, allowing me to better understand and meet each child’s unique needs!

My therapeutic style is rooted in play-based, child-led interventions that build on a child’s strengths while supporting each area of growth. I love making therapy fun, functional, and engaging—helping kids reach their goals while having a great time doing it!

Outside of work, I enjoy time spent with my husband and our sweet dog, Molly. I love connecting with friends and family over a good game night, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, or getting outside for a fun game of pickleball. When it's time to unwind, you'll usually find me curled up on the couch with a cozy blanket and a good show. These moments help me recharge and bring my best self to the work I love!
